Merril grew up at Shorncliffe in an old Queenslander with three generations of family and always with a few cats, dogs and birds in the house. She now lives in Caboolture with her feline companion Chelsea.

Merril enjoys writing Modern Nursery Rhymes, Poetry and Short Stories.
