Tink, tink, tink
Forest dense,
Canopy of green.
Leaf littered floor
Tink, tink, tink.
Stifling heat,
Oppressive humidity,
Blue haze rising.
Tink, tink, tink.
Elusive creature,
Never seen,
A fleeting glimpse?
Tink, tink, tink.
Storm clouds gather,
Thunder rumbles,
Large raindrops.
Silence.
Rumbling ceases,
Storm clouds part,
Sunshine filters,
Again,
Tink, tink, tink.

Beautiful poem Pete. Most enjoyable. I can smell the bush and the rain and hear the Bell bird.
Brilliant Peter. Takes me back to the Blue Mountains and the drive to Sydney as a kid. We’d wind down the windows so we could hear their sweet sound coming from the bush either side of the highway. I remember the smells of summer and the blue haze from the gums. Love it!!
